Health and Human Services Management Post-Diploma Certificate Program (new!)

The Health and Human Services Management Post-Diploma Certificate at Bow Valley College is a unique program in Canada. It has been designed for graduates of health and human services programs who are interested in leadership roles. The program combines health and human services sector knowledge with business skills to prepare our graduates to engage in tasks related to the provision of health and human services as well as effective running of an organization. The curriculum provide learners with advanced health and human services courses as well as business courses to prepare them for work in management positions in the health and human services field.

This program is for learners who hold a diploma or degree in health or human services, seeking the knowledge, skills and qualifications to work in positions of management. The full-time, in-class delivery is suited to graduates who wish to earn the certificate in two semesters (approximately 30 weeks) of study. 

Social Work Diploma (new!)

This two-year diploma program provides a comprehensive preparation for a career in social work and incorporates a unique multi-cultural focus which enables graduates to support their diverse clients.

As a social worker, you will learn how to actively engage with others to help themselves. You will enhance the well-being of individuals, families, and communities. In addition to learning the skills for social work practice, you will develop a unique multicultural focus with intercultural values and knowledge.

 

 

Early Learning and Child Care Certificate and Diploma

Be part of this internationally recognized award winning program. In 2009, Bow Valley College received an Innovation of the Year award from The League of Innovation in the Community College for it's newly developed curriculum. Featuring blended learning opportunities including in class work, online delivery, and work experience practicums, this program prepares you to work in diverse contexts with young children and families.

Graduates of the certificate are eligible to be certified through Alberta Children and Youth Services as a Child Development Worker. Graduates of the diploma are eligible to be certified through Alberta Children and Youth Services as a Child Development Supervisor. IMPORTANT NOTE: Please note that there is no current pathway to transition from the Certificate to the Diploma. Please contact the International Education office for additional information.

Disabilities Studies Certificate and Diploma

Imagine how rewarding it could be to make the difference in someone's life every single day by helping them reach their maximum potential. Bow Valley College has relaunched the Disability Studies program, providing learners with the knowledge and skills to enhance the quality of life of persons with special needs.

After graduation, work in special or integrated educational and employment environments, agencies that support individuals with special needs and disabilities, not-for-profit community organizations, or with children who have special needs.

Education Assistant Certificate

Education Assistants work with students in inclusive and specialized settings to support their cognitive, psychological, and social development. This program prepares graduates to work in educational settings with teachers and other professionals.

Graduates of this program go on to work in educational settings.
