International Education Week 2016

Celebrating Canada’s Engagement with the World

From November 14-18, 2016, Canada is joining many countries to celebrate International Education Week. IEW showcases the significant contribution that international education makes to our social, economic, and cultural well-being and supports Canada's ongoing efforts to engage on the international stage.

Bow Valley College joins the celebration of International Education Week and, in collaboration with the Intercultural Centre, the Student Association and The Market, has organized a series of events that will take place at our Calgary campuses.

During the week, students and staff are invited to participate in the different activities we have organized for the BVC Community:

Monday, November 14

Opening Presentation. 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm. Room S2009, South Campus.

Bow Valley College is globally engaged both at home and abroad.  Join us for our International Education Week launch to celebrate this year’s theme “Empowering Youth through International Education”.

Tuesday, November 15

Isolation as an International Student . 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm. Room S2009, South Campus. 

In partnership with the Intercultural Centre, join us for an engaging, interactive workshop on how to cope with isolation as an international student.

Wednesday, November 16

MOSAIC. Organized by SABVC. 11:00am - 1:00pm. Atrium, South Campus, 2nd floor. 

Learn more about various cultural organizations in Calgary! Students can meet various cultural groups from the Calgary area and find out how to get involved in the community.

Thursday November 17

 

CCIS- Community Support Services Booth

11am - 11:45am; 12pm - 12:45pm. Room 2009, South Campus.

CCIS – Community Support Services helps provide a wellness framework for International Students and their families for the duration of their studies and in the workplace after graduation. Come visit their booth to learn about the multiple FREE services they offer to you as an international student.

 

Mobility/Study Abroad Session. 11am - 11:45am; 12pm - 12:45pm. Room S2009, South Campus.

Come to one of our sessions to learn about scholarships available for international students at Bow Valley College and get some tips on how to apply!

Friday, November 18

How to Apply for Permanent Residence after Graduation? 10:00am-11:00am; 11:30am - 12:30am; 12:30pm-1:30pm. Room S2009, South Campus. 

Register in one of our sessions and learn from a certified immigration consultant what immigration opportunities are available after you graduate. Registration required: Please confirm your attendance by emailing us at issc@bowvalleycollege.ca before November 14th.  Please show your BVC student ID at the event.
